The VPC-CA9, however, has earned the highest possible IEC 60529 waterproof rating-IPX8-allowing users to capture high-definition (1280 x 720-pixel) 30 fps footage without worrying about the effects of water or snow.The VPC-CA9 is operable down to a water depth of 1.5 meters (5 feet).

I would recommend this video camera by Thomas Bacorn

I am shooting with a Nikon D300. I was looking for a compact camera for my daughter when I saw this Waterproof video camera from Sanyo, it seemed like a good choice. This is a "fun" outdoors video camera! Because it is waterproof, my daughter can take pictures/videos anywhere, anytime. The video quality is good and I was very surprised how good the picture is. Of course, it will never as good as my D300 but you can't ask for too much! I will highly recommend this CA9 for anyone that has an outdoor lifestyle and likes to record memories! Have fun!

Overall I love this camera every way. It is sporty and easy to shoot photos and videos. Make sure you get extra battery with purchase - the battery is not long. For the price, this camera is worth it. It is one of the cheapest underwater camera.

I've had this camera for only a week, but I already love it! Takes amazing pictures, nice and small, and very user friendly! This is an excellent camera for the price, but I was a little disappointed about one thing and pleasantly surprised about another thing. I was disappointed that it can’t take good pictures at low light. I was pleasantly surprised that it takes superb photos and videos in good light condition.

This is like a regular Camera with strong video recording and the added waterproof feature. It can be compared to other camera with waterproof case. The features are similar, except that this one is slim, light and easier to carry around. Build quality is great and it seems very reliable. I can give it to your 12 year old to take underwater pics and not worry about it. This is really nice camera, above water and below.

with this cam of course,i was looking for this cam all over the place i went to best buy, radio shack i checked amazon but no one seems to carry it dont know why! so i ordered this cam from warehouse123 and it got here super fast, it has great picture quality, its really user friendly, and omg! its waterproof i just put it in the sink! i was hesitant at first but it worked like a charm, they also send you a free 8 gig memory card, a spare battery, and a screen protector you get a lot a bang for your buck , i highly recommend this cam to everyone!

First time for me buying off an Asian website with low prices and think I struck lucky with this place. Received CA9 cam 8 days after ordering from New Zealand, and what a fantastic cam! So I've ordered another one for a friend. For about $460 kiwi delivered, it's hundreds cheaper than trademe, and none of our stores stock Sanyo Xacti range. Will try get some vids up on youtube under 'cooksup' over the summer!
